The Task form is where you set everything about a to-do — its name, due date, reminders, repeat schedule, attachments, subtasks, tags, sharing, and notes. This guide walks through each part of the form so you know what every field does.
Step 1 — Open the Task form
Click Add New Task (blue) in the top-left of the TaskBox sidebar. A blank Task form opens in the main panel.
Step 2 — Set the summary and due date
Name the task and schedule it:
- Summary (blue) — the task's title, shown on the task card. This is the only required field.
- Due Date (orange) — when the task is due. Click the field to pick a date and time from the calendar.
Step 3 — Set reminders and repeat
Set alerts and recurrence in the Reminders and Repeat sections (blue):
- Reminders — choose when to be alerted before the due date, such as 15 minutes before, or click Add alert to add another reminder.
- Repeat — turn on the toggle to make the task recur on a schedule.
Step 4 — Add attachments and subtasks
Attach reference material and break the task into smaller steps:
- Attachments (green) — drag a file onto the area or click to upload, so related documents travel with the task.
- Subtasks (blue) — enter a checklist item and add it; each subtask can be ticked off independently.
Step 5 — Add tags, sharing, and notes
Organise, collaborate, and annotate:
- Tags (orange) — click Add tag to label the task so you can filter by it later.
- Share Task (green) — enter a name or email to share the task with another person.
- Notes (blue) — add longer free-text details that don't fit in the summary.
Note: A task can only be shared with users under the same domain.
Step 6 — Save the task
Click Add New Task (green) at the bottom of the form to create the task. It then appears in your task list.
